Visiting Tomb no. 4, of the High Priest Meryra.

Custodians

The North and South Tombs are kept locked behind iron doors, as is the Royal Tomb. The keys are held by custodians based in the local villages who are required to be on duty at the tombs themselves during every day. Tickets for entry must be purchased beforehand from the ticket office located at the beginning of the asphalt road leading to the North Tombs. Other custodians are responsible for the ancient city. All are employees of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt.
